Colorado Snow Blizzard--Oct 2009

We all know living in Colorado means snow can come at basically any time of the year and we can also experience all four seasons in one day. The snow storm that hit Colorado late Tuesday into Wednesday (27-28 Oct 2009) was a pretty good sign that winter is coming and mother nature means business! Colorado has has it's share of Major Storms in the past; this one definitely ranks among those. With snow fall totals sneaking up around 4 feet in some mountain/foothill areas and in the Metro Denver area reaching 13 inches at Channel 7 news station, Greeley receiving 12 inches and Boulder near 19 inches as of Thursday morning (29 Oct 2009). With the added ingredients of gusty winds from the North/Northwest visibility became a problem as well as temperatures dipping into the aching cold side. Snow drifts also present from the wind; personally at my house in Greeley after shoveling around 4pm Wednesday a mere 45 minutes later it didn't even look like we shoveled! I didn't get to take many pictures, but I'll see about posting some. Stay warm and stay home if you can!!

Wedding Day!

The pictures are in reverse order (starting at the bottom picture) from the rehearsal dinner night to the wedding day. I'd like to thank everyone else for all the pictures. I have alot and couldn't put them all on here, just a few! It was such an amazing day, I couldn't have pictured it differently!! Thanks to everyone who made it and all those who weren't able to I knew you were there with us. I'm so happy to have such a big family now. Thanks to the Moms, Dads, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Neices, Nephews, Brothers, Sisters, Great friends and everyone else!! I love you all!

Went and got hitched!

That is correct, Josh and I were married Saturday September 19th, 2009! It was such a great day, and the weather was good too! We absolutely loved everyone that was there, and missed those that weren't able to attend. We thank everyone for making the day amazing, breath taking, and ever so memorable!! We look forward to seeing many, many pictures! We will share those here once we get a chance to get some! Thanks to those that have taken and posted pictures already!

Planning, Moving, Working, and more Planning!

Just working away on some last details for the Big day! Gosh I can't believe just 38 days now away until the wedding! Got to taste test some cake on Saturday, that was really fun! The guy that made the samples and who will be doing our cake, Travis, is amazing! What a great guy, he is even working to help make our cake Lactose free just for me, sweetheart! He is so creative. The bridesmaids shoes should be done and ready by this Saturday, can't wait to see how they look. My mom is working on my jewelry, she is so sweet making my necklace and earrings. We've got the ring bearer pillow finished and the flower girl basket done. Almost have the guestbook done, working with a florist now and then need to get a wedding ring for Josh!

Its really hard to imagine that I will be married soon, I almost dont' feel old enough to be married. Guess I should practice signing my new name!

Josh and I found a house to rent, and are moving in this Saturday! It's in west Greeley, didn't move very far, so we will still be near friends and family. I'm finishing up my full-time work here as the summer closes and I begin my LAST SEMESTER AT UNC!!! Wooo-Hoo!! I graduate exactly 4 months from today! I can't believe that I will be done, but on the other hand I am SOO Ready!

In other news, my brother came home from deployment (USMC) and we picked him up from the airport on Saturday and he is here for just a short time. He will get to come back for the wedding, I'm so excited! I'm glad he's home, he is my best friend.

Getting closer to the BIG DAY!!! Working on some last details and getting things in order. I can't believe I will be Mrs. Charlotte Dewey in less than 5 weeks! This whole wedding planning process has been so fun! With the stress and frustration its been a blast! I've included one of our engagement pictures. We had them taken at Glenmere Park, Greeley, CO in early June. Our photographer Nicole is amazing! She's great. We got rained out 3 times but finally had the chance to get the pictures done. Can't wait to see the pictures from the big day!

Char's first storm chase

So Thursday, April 16th was my first chance to really storm chase. I had a blast, even though we didn't see much of anything besides some rain clouds and fast moving storms. It was a great road trip nonetheless with some great friends! Kim and I got to tag along with Tony Laubach and we drove all over southeastern Colorado. We went as far as Las Animas, CO where we met up with some other chasers. The overall day was pretty back and forth for severe weather, ie Tornadoes, but there was some good conditions setting up coming up from Texas. Most of the prime settings fizzled out due to the increased moisture in the area. Oh well, it was still fun and I had a blast!

Keep your eyes peeled for more weather updates, as I love doing this! Especially as we approach Hurricane season and for Space Weather news!
