Get your sweat on!

It's back to work for me starting tomorrow, as my weekend is over now. What an enjoyable weekend it was with my little family. We had some great time swimming, being silly on the floor playing (that's a daily thing!), and we even got to take a trip to Target (big deal, I know) and we each got a few new items, yay! All part of being grown up and getting excited about small things.

I had a great workout today, after getting so much accomplished around the house this weekend.

Ran outside 1.7 miles / 22 min
100°F+ outside
45 push ups, 60 crunches, 30 squats, 3x45 planks & even some lunges. Wow!

It sure does feel good. Though, running outside, at 5pm, during the hot afternoon (& slightly humid) probably wasn't the best idea, it's one of my only options and I take what I can get.

Have a great week!

My running canal. And my post-run "sunburn or lack of oxygen" face. I've always had such a red face after running, strange. I promise I was breathing.

Mr. Bean: 10 months old

My how time flies. The photos below were from back in June. Jackson was being pretty cute just sitting on the couch playing. He thinks he's such a big boy (and he is) sitting on the couch.

Hard to believe in 2 short months he will be 1 year old. Holy moly?! He's changed so much in just a short time. He's now 10 months old (photos are 1 month late, oops!)

He's currently working on his top two teeth coming in. It's been pretty rough. Chewing on everything. He has two on the bottom already. He is starting to pull himself up on things and wants to walk so badly. He can sit up, roll over and talk your ear off. He says "mmmmmaaaammmmaaaa" and "dadadadada" and "baabaabaa" and almost wants to say cat, or at least go eat her. Lucy is a trooper and puts up with everything.

He's eating lots of food, still mostly purees as he has trouble with textures of things. Sweet potato, avocado (fav), squash, zucchini, carrots, apples (fav), peaches, pears, peas (not so fav), oatmeal, cherry, blueberry, yogurt, puff cereal.

Still sleeping good through the night, except when teething. He's up 2-3 times and does not like/want to take a nap during the day. We're lucky if we get 45 min max (maybe 1 hr). Poor guy.

He is starting to prefer being spoon fed to the bottle. Yay on saving on formula?! He loves swimming and bath time. Anyone who's met him has commented on how he waves his arms when excited. I don't know where he learned it but it is the cutest thing ever!

We love our little Bean. Mommy better get cracking at this birthday stuff!

Breakfast: French-Omelet

Alert the presses. I'm back in blogger world & in the kitchen.  Haven't had a whole lot of time to be cooking anything fancy or taking pictures of it, but I'm making a better effort to try. I find myself using my phone to take pictures and send it more often.

Had some time this "weekend" (my weekend off work) to do some cooking. This consisted of making Jackson's food and some delish items for us grown ups too! Who you calling "grown up"?

French-Omelet (created by me)

8 eggs
about 1 cup milk (soy or regular)
3 slices of bread (whole wheat) tore up into 9 slices
1 bell pepper (I used red)
2 teaspoons cinnamon (or to taste)

Mix all these in a bowl. Preheat oven to 350. Use a cheesecake pan (with the outer ring that can be removed, and obviously I don't know the real name of it) and spray with non-stick or olive oil. Place slices of bread on bottom of pan. Sprinkle cinnamon on the bread. Pour egg mixture into pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20-25 minutes. **The more eggs you use/larger batch will require more baking time as it will be thicker.

I've lost my wisdom

So what's been happening lately?

For one, I was lucky enough to have to have two of my wisdom teeth out. I'll pause for the cheers. Oh wait, no one wants that! I did pretty good actually. I think my jaw was more sore the afternoon after it was done than the next day. I remember in high school everyone having their wisdom teeth out. For some reason I was lucky (?) enough to miss that train. Oh well, better late than never, right??? This will be my diet for the next few days:

As soon as I can eat real solid foods again, I'm looking forward to some strawberries and salads and spaghetti, of course not all together.

Here are some photos:

Making a mess playing with toys. Messes are so fun!

Lots of feeding ourselves going on here.

We celebrated our (Jackson's) first 4th of July. We went to watch the fire works in Chandler. What perfect weather it was that night, warm and humid, which is kinda rare for the desert but man it was nice!

Tough to get a good firework photo with my phone.

Bright flash makes us look funny!

While the 4th of July just wasn't the same since we all had to work and go to daycare, we did get to spend the evening together. Watermelon, strawberries, sitting at the park and playing. We missed the parades we used to go to. The BBQ's and family get togethers.

Lots of naps with our bunny and uncle jimmy bear. Gotta have a friend to cuddle up with :)

Enjoy your week. I'm on zombie shifts so I'll be backwards from you all. Looking forward to getting a few miles in this week in between the heat. Man oh man, we must be in July now:

Check out those overnight LOW temps only in the upper 80s and low 90s. Hello A/C!

Challenge: Done

Juneathon is complete! I'm so excited I found this challenge and was able to keep up to it. Though I didn't blog about it everyday (you're welcome) as I'm sure some of you are tired of hearing about it. But I'm glad I participated. While I didn't complete the 100 mile challenge I set for myself, I at least made a great progress towards adding some mileage and working out. High five for that!

Day 30:

Type: Running
Duration: 18 minutes
Distance: 1.01
Calories: 128
Juneathon total: 52.47 miles

However, according to the website that I log all of my workouts on, it says I have gone 60.3 miles total. The total here I've been adding manually, so I'm going to go with the 60. Sounds better too right?!

This was a great late night run. I'm talking 10:45pm, 100 F degrees outside, running through the sprinklers. So fun!

So what's next? Well I'll continue to workout and I'm hoping to do a few races this fall/winter. Crossing my fingers I can be in shape for the Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon in January. I started training for it last year but I was pregnant.
